What Reiki is and how it can help you: a complete guide
Reiki is a form of energy therapy in which the therapist channels universal life energy towards the person receiving it. The word comes from the Japanese 'rei' (spiritual wisdom) and 'ki' (life energy) and essentially describes directing life energy through gentle touch or slightly above the body.
What exactly is Reiki?
It is not a religion, it requires no particular beliefs and it does not replace medical treatment. It is a complementary therapy that supports the natural balancing processes of the body, mind and emotions. In our practice, Reiki is integrated with other systems of energy work, according to each person's needs.
How does a Reiki session unfold?
We begin with a short conversation in which you tell us what brought you to therapy and what no longer works in your life. Then you lie down or sit, comfortably dressed, in a quiet space. The therapist works with their hands above or lightly on the body, placing them on the main areas: head, throat, chest, stomach, back, legs. Each position lasts a few minutes.
What do you feel during a Reiki session?
The most common sensations are gentle warmth, tingling, pulsing or deep relaxation. Some people feel an invisible weight leaving the body; others experience sudden mental clarity or even see colours. There is no 'correct way' to feel — your body receives exactly what it needs in that moment.
The benefits of Reiki therapy
The benefits are felt on several levels. Physically, many people notice reduced muscle tension, more restful sleep and a general sense of relief. Emotionally, Reiki can bring calm, clarity and better management of stress or anxiety. Energetically, it helps unblock areas where energy does not flow freely and restores inner balance.
Who is Reiki suitable for?
It is accessible to almost anyone: people going through chronic fatigue, anxiety, emotional or relationship blockages; people who feel they are 'no longer themselves'; people healing after a loss, a major change or an illness; and also curious people who want to care for their energy preventively. It is not meant as the only treatment for serious conditions, but as complementary support.
Are there any risks with Reiki?
No. Reiki is a non-invasive, gentle and safe method. There are no major contraindications. Sometimes, after the first session, mild tiredness or thirst can appear — signs that the body is eliminating what has been released. We recommend hydration and rest on that day.
How long does a Reiki session last and what does it cost?
At Arta Evoluției Tale, Reiki sessions with Alex last 50 minutes and those with Adelina 40 minutes. A single session is 350 RON. For deeper processes we recommend a journey of several weeks, in which Reiki is combined with other clearing and guidance techniques.
How quickly do results appear?
Many people feel a difference from the first session: deep relaxation, clarity or emotional relief. For old patterns or deep blockages, the effects become visible after 3–5 sessions. Every body has its own rhythm and we respect it.
The difference between Reiki and other energy therapies
Reiki is often the gateway into energy therapies because it is gentle, structured and easy to experience. Unlike Shamballa or Karuna Reiki, which work on higher frequencies and deeper layers, classic Reiki is excellent for balancing, relaxation and reconnection. In our Cluj-Napoca practice we use it both as a therapy in itself and as part of a more complex journey.
How you can start a Reiki session
If you feel you need an energetic reset, calm or clarity, the simplest way is to start with a single session. You can come to the practice in Cluj-Napoca, Cloșca street no. 5A, or choose the online option. After the first meeting you will know whether Reiki is the right path for you.
